Redington Fly Reels

Redington Has been around the block a bit and there have been tremendous changes from the original small South Florida firm of more than 30 years back. The principle from which Redington originally started was to provide quality fly fishing equipment at a quality price. Growing that creed into an authentic doctrine of belief, Redington has expanded its line of reels to include some epic reels for the money. From the Redington Crosswater to the Grande you can rest assured you are getting the best quality fly reel for the best price.

Sage Fly Reels

Sage Fly Reels

Sage, known for their world-class fly rods, has made a serious push in fly reel design and manufacturing for the 2020 season. With an impressive line of reel series, fly anglers now have access to a fantastic selection of reels in all fishing categories and at all price points. Sage X Fly Rod

Sage Fly Rods

When asked which fly rod company is continually at the forefront of modern fly rod design, one name jumps out: Sage. From its humble beginnings in the early 1980s, the Winslow Company, as it was first known, quickly made a name for itself with the design of sweet casting but even better fishing fly rods. With a gathering of minds, Sage Manufacturing as it is now known has continually pushed the envelope of fly rod design. Never resting on their laurels, Don Green and his crew at Sage have relentlessly developed new materials and technologies like Kinetic HD Technology and the Modulus Position System, spawning fly fishing rods like the beefy Salt HD, the savvy Sage X, the butter-smooth Trout LL, and now the brazen Ignitor. Sage is a complete fly company so watch out, these folks are never satisfied.

Scientific Angler Absolute Trout Supreme

Scientific Anglers Fly Lines

Scientific Anglers released the first, modern floating fly line in 1954, making silk lines obsolete overnight. Since then, the Midland, Michigan company has manufactured the most technologically advanced fly lines the world has ever seen. Pioneering such technologies as Microballoons to float lines better, tungsten in sinking lines, and Advanced Shooting Technology, SA continues to stretch the limits of fly line performance.
Scott Sector Fly Rod

Scott Fly Rods

The Scott Fly Rod Company started in a basement on Cook Street in San Francisco back in 1973 when Harry Wilson followed his dream of building a better fly rod. The fledgling company rapidly gained notoriety and respect for their fine fiberglass fly rods. Not long after the Scott fiberglass buzz began, the company, looking to the future, began toying with graphite in their fly rod production process. Through the experimentation process, Scott developed their signature tapered hollow internal ferrule, and in the late 1970s Scott's pioneering graphite fly rod, a sturdy stick designed for salmon and steelhead angling, was introduced with great success. Scott's technology-forward, progressive business practice has consistently lead the pack. From the first 5-piece fiberglass rod, to the first successfully marketed and sold multi-piece series of graphite rods, to the first quality control rating system for rod blanks, Scott has pushed the envelope, and pushed it hard. From the first roll on the mandrel in the factory to the first roll cast on the water, Scott fly rods consistently shine brightly, bringing freshness to the sport and fish to the bank.

Simms Fall Run Hoody

Simms Fall Run

Its a puffy jacket... I know, but hear me out. I have owned many puffy jackets over the years and this thing is a machine. The face fabric is the super durable and can stand up to all the crap an angler can put it through. I am super hard on this type of thing and this is the first one that has survived more than one season on my body. I will also add that it is perfect SF weight jacket. Features zip pockets and an internal chest pocket for the phone.

If that's not enough it comes in multiple colors, a jacket version (no hood), a shacket, hybrid version, vest (no arms), and women's.

All at pretty reasonable prices, ranging from $119-$199

One pro tip is they run a bit on the large side, so if you are are "marge" or "smedium" go with the smaller size.

Simms G4Z Wader Stockingfoot

Simms G4 Pro Collection

We had the pleasure of trying out all of the new Simms G4 Pro line on the Sustut River in British Columbia earlier this season. The weather was unforgiving – rain, bitter cold, and challenging steelhead conditions. And we couldn't have been happier. This is the first wader, boot and jacket collection that has us seriously considering upgrading for the simple reason that it's just better. Lightweight and durable zippered waders, boots with stud receivers, and a jacket with passthrough game pockets for extra storage.
